About Maroon Clown

Black or orange with two vertical black-edged white bands, one behind the eye and one above the after. Black and orange color morphs believed to be dependent on which species of sea anemone the fish is associated with.

Inhabits lagoons and outer reef slopes. Feeds primarily on planktonic copepods, a variety of algae, echiuroids, and sipunculoids. Has been reared in captivity (Ref. 35420). Associated with the anemones: Entacmaea quadricolor, Heteractis aurora, Heteractis crispa, and Stichodactyla mertensii (Ref. 5911).
