The 5th Annual Dog Fest will take place, Saturday, September, 29, 2007 at Chesterfield Community Park.
Last year's event was well attended with approximately 2,200 spectators. Nineteen vendor booths and nine non-profit booths were on display. Fifty-nine dachshunds participated in various heats of the Dachshund Dash throughout the day. Demonstrations from the Ozark Correctional Center, Fordland, various local dog groomers, a rescue Adopt-a-Pet parade, and park planner, Jerany Jackson, presented on the dog park. Two silent auctions were held at the event entrance and micro-chipping was made possible by Deerfield Veterinary Hospital, with all proceeds going to the dog park project. Event presenting sponsors were Deerfield Veterinary Hospital and All Pet Supplies. Thirty-three staff assisted with the event, six full-time and part-time park board staff, seven community volunteers, with the remainder of the volunteers from the citizen dog park committee. The Dog Fest started at 10 a.m. and concluded around 2 p.m. Over $3,000 was raised to benefit the Dog Park Project.
